Wasn't Chicago ahead of D.C. in 2014? If so, looks like D.C. is rising.

Washington was ranked 12th in the last ranking, now it moved up to 10th. Chicago used to be ranked 9th in the last ranking, now it has moved down to 11th.

Looks like SF, Chi, and DC were all within 5 rating points last year, and this year they are within 2, with all three of them displaying an increase in their ratings. DC moved up two spots; SF and Chi moved down two spots, but it's pretty close to a wash for all three cities (probably four, when you include Boston).

Probably 5 when you include Toronto too, which is only 2 points ahead of San Francisco.

Sure--was just thinking about the U.S., but definitely Toronto, too.

also it seems that LA entered as it was the first time evaluated

nice to see so many US cities on the list

wonder how places like a Houston or Miami or Philly would fare if evaluated.

Also interesting that only NYC was in the global category

DC, Boston and LA were considered Transnational

SF was considered local

Well, the spread from Toronto to Vancouver encompassing several North American cities is pretty low small overall and pretty much dwarfed by the jumps above to NYC or down to Calgary. This is very exciting.

Not just that, there's a great volatility as well too. In one quarterly report a city can be 6th, by the next quarterly update its fallen behind several competitors in its continent and moved down to like 9th.

Only a few index points separate the bulk of North American cities. Making it too close for any to pull further away from the rest of the pack.

37. Paris

Once again, this one horrendously wrong placement ruins this ranking's credibility for me.

Paris ranks beneath Canada's 3 big cities and beneath Australia's 2 big cities.

I dont get it.
