Not only that, but the job market in ATL for IT and pretty much everything else white collar is oversaturated as heck.
These days it might not be so bad since the recession caused growth to slow up a bit and job growth has been on a big upswing for the past 1-2 years. This could be the perfect time to enter the job market before growth really does get back to pre-recession levels.

The IT market here is not oversaturated. In fact, many companies are finding it difficult to find qualified candidates for job positions. I know...I work in the industry. How about you stay in Texas....aren't you in Houston? Why don't you worry about the 4,000 oil jobs BP is about to cut?

The future of Atlanta is excellent. No doubt, Atlanta's metro growth will be hitting pre-recession levels. We'll be seeing the huge 120k+ a year type growth soon.

As someone who lived in Charlotte for 5 years and now lives in Atlanta... I hope people realize that Atlanta offers much more amenities, living options, and diversity compared to Charlotte and especially Raleigh. Nashville is great, but NC/GA would still offer a wider and more diverse economy. I'm a strong believer that Raleigh is a bit more family friendly then it's competitors. Atlanta does have a thriving economy that's growing beyond that of NC. Hope this helps...
