Yep; the St. John's River which runs through the city is very nice, along with the palm and oak trees.
In the Jax area the St John's gets as wide as 3 miles. It practically looks like the ocean from the waterfront. Even in the downtown area, while definitely not 3 miles wide, the other side of the river can look like a distant island.
Columbus is a good bit nicer in pretty much all tangible areas, although Jacksonville is much nicer than it would seem from its tangible numbers, and is a pretty cool city to visit. It also feels fairly close to the ocean, although it isn't really an "ocean city".
Columbus has alot going for it....alot of ppl have the view of the detoriating midwest but Colubmus is clearly bucking that trend I like the city.......Jax is cool the location is really nice as well I see alot of potential but its hasn't come together like I think it could as of yet.
