Key phrase right there. Those days are long gone and the gap between these two cities has closed considerably.
Atlanta is definitely better if you're into being seen with a bunch of corny Black celebrities. It also has an obvious edge when it comes to Caribbean dance clubs. But for everyone else looking for good drinks, good music and a good time, Houston can hold its own. If you're unaware of what goes down in Texas then you simply aren't in the know.
And even then, with clubs like Zanzibar, Club Riddims, etc., Houston holds its own, especially considering that its Caribbean population is smaller than Atlanta's. You have that Jamaican cooler party that occurs here.
No one here said Houston's nightlife was bad. I said people here in Atlanta give Houston the nod when it comes to it's nightlife. I just don't think people in Atlanta are going to Houston specifically just to party like they would say...NYC, Miami, or NOLA.

People from Atlanta come here for Drake Weekend just as Houston go to Atlanta for a special occasion. At the end of the day, people from Atlanta are still coming here to party and vice versa.

I know it's uncommon but certainly not unheard of. If Drake goes to Houston just for the nightlife I'm sure other people do as well.
Likewise, no one I know over here has ever gone to Atlanta just for the clubs. The destination cities out here are New Orleans, Miami and Los Angeles.
