Eh, I wouldn't say all that, at least from my experiences. Personally I enjoy DC's nightlife more but overall, objectively, I think at the least, Philly and DC are tied for nightlife.
I haven't been out in DC as an adult, so I can't comment. But even if Philly and DC are even, it's hard to ignore Atlantic City just an hour east of Philly. I think adding in AC, since it IS part of the CSA, puts Philly well ahead of DC.
When do you hear people talking about Houston, Atlanta, or Denver as nightlife destinations? Lol. I really don't get what you mean with all this Philly is disgusting and dangerous and dirty stuff.

That's a pretty huge stretch dude. AC is its own thing and doesn't count for Philly when it comes to nightlife in my book. That would be like including Athens, a quintessential college town, for Atlanta and nobody does that.

There are plenty of us who don't. That is a total non-factor for me. I prefer lounges and bars and music venues. Atlanta is not nearly as big a bar town as Philly.

AC is two hours from NYC and one hour from Philly. People in the Philly area go to AC for recreation and nightlife but I think it's disingenuous to count AC as Philly nightlife. It's not like a group of friends will go from barhopping in UC to South Street and then say, "Hey, let's hit up AC next!"

Hah-I've done that plenty actually... AC is open later. Definitely not a routine thing though.

It's pretty rare for someone to do that all in the same night, and even when it does happen it's probably planned most of the time. I don't even see people doing that here in DC with Baltimore or vice versa and the two cities are a little closer.
