Lol so now you're bringing up the JFK Assassination. That's the best of Dallas?

Dallas is also doing a great job with current infill projects. The neighborhoods may not be "world class" like in Boston, but they are breathing new life.

Texas Mafia vs Irish (Massachusetts) Mafia (a loosely fitting depiction of the actual truth), but one LBJ enjoyed using nevertheless to describe his relationship to JFK.
LBJ was a criminal who expressed immense pomp and narcissim... The usage of this metaphor was related to a number of individuals around the circles of money and power in those days; documented by, but not limited to;

LBJ's authorized biographer, Robert Caro,
President Richard M. Nixon,
Barr McClellan, in 'Blood, Money and Power,'
Madeleine Duncan Brown (mistress) on countless occasions,
E. Howard Hunt, Central Intelligence
Billy Sol Estes, Texas Oil Mafia
Bobby Baker, Texas Oil Mafia
Victor Marchetti, former Central Intelligence Special Assistent to the Director, author, JFK murder investigator,
Gaeton Fonzi, House Select Committee on Assassinations,
Daniel Sheehan, Ambassador to the Vatican, Ind. Counsel to the Iran Contra Affair
Bob Bennett, Central Intelligence, Mullen Corp, JFK Assassination conspirator.
Roger Stone, Nixon aide
Mark Lane, JFK murder investigator,
Penn Jones, author, JFK murder investigator,
Jim Marrs, author, JFK murder investigator,
Jim Garrison, DA of Orleans Parish, author, JFK murder investigator, who broke the case wide open in the 1960s.
Mary Farrel, author, JFK murder investigator
etc, etc, etc, etc.....

When Yuri Nosenko defected, he described to his CIA captors; the Russian findings of their own version of "Warren Commission" investigation to have determined that a 'quarrel' between the Texas Oil interests + the Eastern Aristocracy vs the JFK/Irish faction resulted in the coups d' etat and public execution of JFK.

The Russians thought the public slaying of Kennedy was a particularly 'nice' touch, in that it would serve as a warning to anyone that might attempt to follow in his footsteps, realizing that 'Washington insiders' would forever recognize the JFK hit for what it was.

*These facts have also been confirmed by ex KGB spy Oleg Kalugin (special assistant to Anatoly Dobrynin) in the decades after the assassination.

Of all the thread derails I've seen, this is one of the best. Let's follow:

1. Boston vs Dallas
2. JFK (from Boston area, shot in Dallas)
3. JFK assassination conspiracy theories.

C'mon...back to the topic, knuckleheads!

Good, then, both seem to be able to work out.

I think if you're still early in your careers, and given that your first post seems to paint most things as a tie overall, then I'd go with wherever you guys get the best job offers.

If you're really, really keen on saving money, then you guys can consider saving money via moving back and living with one of your respective family's (provided it's within easy reach of good job opportunities).

I think one thing you're not quite factoring in is that you're talking about places much further out from the city core for Dallas while keeping the area really tightly bound to the core for Boston. This affects things like the cost of housing and pace of life--you can actually live out in the suburbs of Boston as it seems like you'd be doing so in Dallas. For example, your points of reference for Dallas for housing was Plano, Richardson, and Frisco, while your points of reference for Boston were Somerville, Cambridge, and Brookline. If you look at a map, you'll see that the spots picked for Dallas are much further out from downtown Dallas than the spots you picked out for Boston are from downtown Boston. If you wanted more comparable areas for Boston, then it probably makes sense to be talking about places a bit further out to make it comparable.

One more crinkle is that in the Boston area, you can live further out and ride the commuter rail into the city for work (or drive if your jobs aren't in the core). However, you can't easily have the option of living without a car, possibly two with one for each of you, in the Metroplex.
