Please note I am American born of Pakistani origin.

I believe the best city for Muslim Americans is Chicago, Dearborn and Los Angeles.

Chicago - Pros: Big Muslim community with many restaurants to choose from - sometimes it's about the quality of people not quantity. Having a large community is not always a pro. Cons: Cold Weather

Dearborn - Pros: Many halal restaurants, Mosques, many Mid East restaurants. Cons: Cold Weather

Los Angeles - Pros: Good community, Solid Pakistani restaurants, Hands down has the best weather in the Country and even the World. Plenty of options when it comes to food, diverse. Cons: Traffic

With all this said - I believe LA is the best city in the world for Muslims to live. Please discuss - again this is not just the Muslim American community but also the Pakistani American community.

Thanks and God Bless America.

I lived up the the Metro Detroit region for 10 years and Dearborn, MI has many immigrants and first-generation individuals who are from Yemen and other places in the Middle East. The city of Hamtramck has a relatively large population of immigrants from Bangladesh.

When I lived in the Albany, NY area there was a smaller population of people from Pakistan.

Chicago is another city with a decent population of Muslims; several of the people that I knew in Detroit had quite a few relatives in Chicago and talked very positively about it in terms of having quite a few prayer halls and places to buy halal meats.

Dearborn, Michigan

I was there a couple of years ago to see the Henry Ford Museum
and surprised to see how Muslim it is. I think it is majority Muslim.

I would say New York City and its metro, by far, as it easily has the highest number and percentage of Pakistani Americans. Outside of weather, there's nothing any of the other cities mentioned would have over it.

Some smaller cities of note are Paterson, NJ which has the highest Palestinian population in the country, and Fremont, CA which has the largest Afghani population.

Definitely the Detroit area. No close 2nd.

My family is Lebanese and and I grew up in LA. Our family is split between Muslims, Christians, and nothings (me being the later). At a young age, my Muslim family moved to the Detroit area and my Christian side to Dallas. Eventually, everyone left LA.

LA and NYC are great cities and offer Muslims a lot, but there is simply no comparing to Southeastern Michigan.

Black American muslims (usually Nation of Islam) / jailbird hood n!gga type muslim = Philadelphia by far. Others would be NY, LA, & Baltimore.

Black African immigrant muslim- probably NY followed by houston.

Middle east arab / north african stereotypical muslim - Los Angeles, NY, Detroit.

Other muslims / white, hispanic, east asian- probably NY, LA, & Philly

Im sorry, how does Houston fit in with the Black Immigrant Muslim? Houston has a very large Nigerian community, but its foreign born African community is actually quite small given the citys size.
