I want to visit Oklahoma sometime in the future. It's a state I've never been to. I'll only be connecting at Oklahoma City Airport in a few weeks. But I was looking at Oklahoma for fun, and it has 2 major cities. I'm wondering, in terms of entertainment, shopping, and the overall big city vibe, which city do people prefer to visit?

OK City is the up and comer.
Tulsa is definitely more aesthetically appealing.
If you want the Cowboy culture of the Southwest/Southern Plains then go for OK City. Tulsa has a feel like NW Arkansas and it has more high-end shopping, etc.
Neither city really has a big city vibe although Tulsa definitely is more urban. (OK City is improving in its Bricktown/downtown district, however.)
Culturally, the people are identical although a few T-Town snoots would disagree.
If you hit up OK City then I wold go to the Cowboy Hall of Fame. If you go to Tulsa, then I'd head to Gilgrease.
They're both great towns, but I'm obviously biased as an Okie.
Those are two cities I've never heard much about. Really when I think of Oklahoma I just think of tornadoes. If I was going to visit I guess I'd go to OKC and go see a basketball game. Not sure what I'd do in Tulsa. But one of the great things about visiting a place you know nothing about is being surprised by how much fun you can have. No boring places, just boring people who don't know how to just get out and have a good time no matter where they are.

We have plenty of said boring people on this website. I'd trust Trip Advisor over the majority of people on here.
Never been to either but had some neighbors here who were from Tulsa and understanding my urban snobbery distinctly conveyed that Tulsa was better in that aspect.
Tulsa boomed during a really interesting period architecturally, and as a result has one of the best collections of Art Deco buildings anywhere. Tulsa is one of the most underrated cities in the country in my opinion.
