Hi everyone, currently weighing my options between the Monterey Peninsula and the Southern NH I-93 corridor. I have great job opportunities in both places and romantic/family ties in both places. I'm stuck. From the west coast and used to the weather. In the past I lived in New England and the winter was fine although I wish I had taken advantage of more winter outdoor activities.

I've worried that as a west coast boy the move east will kill me, but at the same time my SO is from there and is having a difficult time considering a permanent stay out west.

Which place would you rather end up?

There's family in both places... although if I/we decide to stay it may take a toll on our relationship which I've very worried about. Don't want this decision to end it. I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around such a big move.

My family moved to New Boston, NH from San Jose 5 years ago. You will LOVE it here. The people are very friendly and the Summer climate is much milder. It does snow in the Winter, but it really isn't that bad. A few tough days of snow then the rest is easy. Before you know it the snow is gone and it is Spring. Depending on where you live, you may be a little farther to the ocean, but the beaches are nice.

I thing you would really like it here and the change is nice.

Monterrey, better weather. Southern NH isn't bad in the Summer though.

Monterey

Though if it was "northern" New Hampshire I would choose it.
