I was in Nashville last month and explored for the first time. I liked it. I even liked the tacky country bars. Broadway is an absolute mess at night. But it's a pretty area, and it is walkable (at least over there). But i do agree with others that KC as a whole has a more cohesive downtown area. Nothing to match Broadway's activity, but as a whole, it's better.

Downtown Nashville is definitely a work in progress. The area is changing so fast that it will be unrecognizable in another 10 years. Thing that Nashville ranks last in is mass transit. I would also rank Nashville last place in walkability. Seemingly nice neighborhoods would be so much more vibrant were there sidewalks/crosswalks/bicycle lanes.

Is this a joke?

Comparing Kansas City to Nashville is like comparing Bedrock to Orbit City.

Which is supposed to be which?
I just spent a week in Nashville (have spent many shorter stints there from time to time beforehand). There are a handful of okay areas, especially to the south, but I generally hated it. A poorly developed city.
It does have a lot going for it in terms of growth, but doesn't seem to understand what a real city is supposed to be.
Downtown Nashville is a tourist trap, mostly. People live there, people work there, but the tourist aspect cannot be underestimated.
Downtown KC is vastly more tolerable.

Nashville became trendy. The boom will play out and people will move on to the next big thing.

I would say KC. Nashville downtown is not that great. Downtown's are kinda boring in every city thou expect NYC and Chicago.

Well, Nashville is certainly pretty cartoonish. I’ll give you that.

Woah. Touchy.

Look Kansas City is old and run down. Don't get mad at Nashville. Just go on a multi-decade building spree.
