You should take care of that.
Smyrna actually offers a pretty good lifestyle. It's fairly well located relative to Atlanta's core. There are some lovely and relatively affordable neighborhoods there, and the town center has been revamped and looks great. Plus if you're a baseball fan, it's slap up against SunTrust Park, the new Braves Stadium.
lol! Maybe a big part of it is the way the residents acted when they got the Braves. Just so obnoxious.
I bet you're thinking of that hand-picked group of people who attended the county commission meeting wearing those t-shirts bragging about the Braves coming to Cobb County. As someone who lives in Smyrna/Vinings near the stadium, I can assure you that virtually no one was gloating about it. We didn't ask for it, didn't want it and voters booted the commissioner out of office who pushed the project. Once we knew it was coming, we took a wait & see approach, hoping that game-day traffic wouldn't make our lives too miserable. But I have to say, now that the stadium is here, it's pretty cool to have close-by. Traffic isn't nearly as bad as expected.
As for Smyrna, it's becoming more urban. There are a number of new mid-rise apartment buildings that have been built recently. A lot of retail & restaurants have opened up (some of it at the mixed-use Braves development). It's also easy to get to Buckhead/Midtown/Downtown from Smyrna.
