New York is not number 1. That is Los Angeles. Best food in the world. Im a food critic and what I say matters more than your opinions.
lol. But it is true that actual food critics currently have more of a love affair with LA than they do NYC. This forum isn’t made of up “foodies” unfortunately, so you get basic tourist stereotypical answers despite what’s currently the general feelings in the food world.

New York crushes LA easily. As a matter of fact I think the East Coast from Boston down to Miami destroys the West Coast from Washington down to Cali in food.

Yeah, that's probably a bit much.
San Francisco is very well-known as a top culinary city and LA is certainly no slouch (maybe a top 5 city).

San Francisco, LA, Portland, Seattle - you could make a reasonable argument that the West Coast has 4 of the top 10 food cities in the country. So I'm gonna have to disagree with you there.
I grew up in LA and I dont even think its the 2nd best in the US for food. I think its tied for 3rd with SF. LA is more innovative but SF has some of the most fresh ingredients.

Id go with NYC, Chicago, SF/LA, and Houston/Philly in that order.

I grew up in LA as well. Great list. Chicago has great food around every corner, and NYC has a massive selection of places to eat. I would try to squeeze in New Orleans in there somewhere, though.

What NOLA does well, it does better than any other city including NYC. But NOLA just isnt as well rounded as the others I mentioned.
