It used to be in the 1980's and maybe the 1990's. Definitely not in 2018.
Another "used to be" new age center is Boulder. It was prominent in new age circles in the 1970's with the founding of the Naropa Institute.
The places that might be considered new age thought centers are rapidly changing. How about "Arklantis"? There is a major new age conference being held in Little Rock in September. I would never guess Little Rock would be the location to host this type of event.

I couldn't help but think of Cassadaga, FL, the summer headquarters of the Southern Spiritualist Conference. The town is populated almost entirely by psychics and mediums.
The New Age component is pretty watered down in Santa Fe, at this point. Taos could work, but I mentioned Sedona, because the percentage of New Agers is higher there, than in Santa Fe or Taos, IMO. I think Sedona and Asheville lead the pack, and perhaps next on the list would be the northern NM towns.
