Looking to relocate from Nashville. Facts/things we are looking for:
- we are married in our late 20s, no kids
- we are both in accounting
- looking for good weather year round
- enjoy outdoor activities (hiking/backpacking and swimming)
- enjoy eating out and watching movies
- we don't drink so bars are not important
- fitness activities - crossfit, pole dance, running
- looking for people/activities/vibes that are more crunchy/natural/open minded than Nashville
Is the higher housing costs in California worth the pros that outweigh Orlando? We could make either work but it would definitely be a different style of living (2 bed older home needing work in CA vs 3 bed newer home move in ready with pool and extra savings).
Is there a reason you are not considering other cities, but these two (e.g. Los Angeles, Miami)?
For LA vs San Diego it looked like San Diego was slightly more affordable?
For Orlando vs. Miami I would feel safer living a little further inland.
Other than that, we've been to all four cities and enjoy visiting them all.
San Diego is the much better option between the two based on your criteria if you can tolerate the cost of living. I would not have set this up as a poll, however, because you sort of block out recommendations that may be worth considering. Phoenix, Miami, and Los Angeles are also great options.
