We were never seriously in the running (Bezo's hometown) -- but I'm glad not to have this monstrosity plopped down in a place that would not have been able to assimilate 50K workers and their families. Microsoft also started here and moved away after a few years. Not a bad start-up spot but Albuquerque is smaller than it appears in many respects. I actually like that.
I'm just glad Denver made the Top 20 without having to completely shred our dignity with a ton of corporate welfare a la the supposed Top 3. $1 billion plus in incentives? Ridiculous.

Consider that half those posts were spent engaging trolls, as usual.
Even though it was a long shot for US to get it (it was a "joint bid" with us and Dallas, but Dallas more than likely would have gotten it) I really wish we had it.
Would have given this city a boost now that XTO (part of Exxon) and D.R. Horton are leaving.

they're in full back peddle mode now. You can literally see the wheels going backwards...
LOL@ The Positivity Police desperately holding on to the idea that we're absolutely devastated over this.
200+ page thread says otherwise. And I didn't say absolutely devastated (your words), but that is denial to claim that people in ATL aren't upset.
If HQ2 were announced in ATL, it would be a celebration, yet because Amazon chose other cities, ATL suddenly never wanted Amazon.... please, no other city came close to the Atlanta HQ2 thread.
I don't give a hoot about Atlanta and you might not feel that way, but its certainly a vibe I see from the posts, and people can't admit defeat.
I will say I would have preferred Atlanta over DC. New York doesn't make much of a difference to me.
I live a day’s drive from the nearest competing city (Denver) and I am delighted Amazon did not choose it. Denver, the Front Range, and a fair bit of the rest of CO already is struggling with fast growth and the problems that come with it.

"You are upset and angry about this! Admit it! ADMIT IT!"
