Basically which metro feels like it's just one big city, where you can hardly tell you've crossed over the city limits into the next one
Dfw
Phoenix metro
Miami metro
LA metro
Though the development is uniform in these metro areas, the lack of rail infrastructure connecting the city with the suburbs hinders any functionally interconnected feeling within these metro areas with the exception of LA.

Fake news, LOL! Though Miami is a big car city, they do have 3 train systems (Amtrak, Tri-Rail and Brightline) connecting the suburbs/outlying cities throughout the metro.
Miami... The whole stretch from Miami proper up to FLL and then to WPB all feel like one giant place. Aside from the "downtown" areas, you can't really tell when you cross from one to the other.
Greater Miami- Fort Lauderdale- WPB doesn't feel like one city in anyway. The fact that it's a vertical Metro really enforces my feelings about this. Boca Raton doesn't feel anything like Hialeah. Their worlds apart in culture and demographics. I know people that live in West Palm that haven't been to Miami in years. Rooting for the same sports teams is pretty much the only commonality. Even when talking to outsiders a person from Broward or PB county would say their from South Florida, not Miami!
I can't speak for the other cities but if we are talking about physical layout Miami is very interconnected. There are over 100 incorporated municipalities and you can drive through the metro and not know where one city begins or ends if it weren't for city limit signs.

All of DFW pretty much looks the same to me....id say its interconnected.
