Chester and Camden, NJ always duke it out for that title.
Not to digress but serious question, is Camden even a suburb of Philadelphia? I wonder what people in the area consider it other than a blight I guess.....
As of 11/30/19, Los Angeles was at 232 (5.8/100,000). At least 11 of those were shot by law enforcement, and since those are most likely all going to be ruled justifiable, the actual numbers are:
221/5.5 per 100,000
It was 234 with 15 shot by law enforcement at this time in 2018 (So 219), or about the same. It was 261 with 18 shot by law enforcement at this time in 2017 (so 243), which along with 2016 had a spike in homicides.

This past weekend have seen a surge of gun violence with 3 shootings on Saturday & 2 sunday with 3 homicides in total. 2 dozen people have been shot in Jackson this past week.
Toronto city proper (2.8 million people) is at 66 or 67. With the suburbs outside the city proper, the GTA is at 115 murders I think.
Montreal (2 million) is at 18. There have been about as many murders in the off-island suburbs (which have another 2 million people) so the Greater Montreal total is around 35 right now.
That's tragic. Pittsburgh is still at 33 as of 12/09/2019. We have almost identical populations. I'm not sure if Pittsburgh is having a "fluke" good year or if Cincinnati is having a "fluke" bad year since we're usually pretty comparable with homicide rates as well. Maybe our population has just declined a lot further than what census estimates suggest, or maybe we're gentrifying our problem children out to the suburbs more rapidly than some think.
Cleveland is around 120 after a violent weekend (3 dead, at least 19 shot), so probably will finish right around the 130 it has been at the last 4 or 5 years.
