Well, I'm Hispanic and as I mentioned in another thread, most Hispanics would not qualify to come here as skilled workers, mainly because of the language barrier.
What's with the 14 homicide discrepancy between the Chicago tribune and the sun times? The sun times says 479 while the tribune says 493. And if it was really 493 I would ask what's been making Chicago so violent lately. Chicago's been pretty much guaranteed to see under 500 this year for a while now. That is a milestone we don't want to reach.

According to heyjackass.com, which tracks Chicago homicides, the total number of homicides in Chicago this year is 497 until today so if the trend continues, the total number of homicides will be slightly higher than 500 this year. According to that website, there were 808 homicides in 2016 and as much as 943 in some years during the Cabrini Green days in the 90's so Chicago is doing much better today.
Baltimore 5th year in a row over 300, currently sitting at 325. There is no hope for Harm City.
That's really bad for a city of its size! Baltimore has about 620,000 residents. Dallas, Texas has twice as many residents(over 1.3 million) and the new mayor is fretting that murders will reach 200 this year, the highest total in twelve years. Can't say what is the problem in Baltimore but for Dallas, part of the issue is insufficient manpower due to retirements, departures to better paying jobs in nearby suburbs and population growth.
Houston through November is over 300 murders but its a city of 2.2 Million, or 3 1/2 times larger than Baltimore. I remember when we moved there in the early 1980s. The city's population was 700,000 smaller but murders one year in the 1980s totaled more than 700!
Ok but you should note the city's population size which is 302,000 to give proper perspective. Cincy's murder rate is actually a third higher than that of Houston which is almost 6x as larger.
That's not good for a city of 1.6 million. Dallas has 1.35 million resident and through 12/20 is at 199.
