Philadelphia has a wimpy do nothing mayor and a wimpy do nothing police commissioner. A majority of the murders are obviously in bad neighborhoods/gang related, but its very disappointing to see this uptick when the city has been on a positive trajectory for so long.

Baltimore now over 10 per 100K rate, and St. Louis not far behind. Not a very good start to the year for these places.. Also, a better source for Houston which appears to have stopped updating awhile ago. The new source is in line with their Police Department (link via Houston PD website). Houston not off to a great start either. Some new places added to the list too.

Any numbers on Flint MI yet? Flint police link to a crime map but it shows no homicides which is rather unlikely considering Flint is usually near the top of the ranking.

Flint is at 5 homicides through 3/18:

That is 5.18 per 100K which is nearly identical to Washington DC.
