People in Massachusetts think just because a city has a lot of black people (or even Hispanic people) that it’s a bad area which is far from the truth. When people think of Brockton they feel it’s unsafe mostly for that reason which is also far from the truth. It’s pretty racist IMO. I live in MA 2-3 nautical miles from the worst hoods in Boston and have never had a single issue day or night when there and I’ve been there countless times for whatever reasons. And I’ve Talk to people that think your crazy for even stopping a red lights in these areas and it’s completely false.

Brockton is not a so nice city and this has nothing to do with black people (as I told you I am black)... Look, appart from the Montello area (north Brockton), Westgate, and all that, Brockton is very sketchy... Campello, the Massassoit area, Warren avenue... those are place where you could hear gunshots... Some people even got bullets fly right through their window... in 2-3 occasions I heard what I first though were gunshot but later got told that people use firecracker to lure the police.

I first was in Snell street (near stop and shop) and was ok, then I moved to Laureston street, right next where 2 witnesses got murdered in their home to prevent them from testifying...

That being said, the 10 months I spent in Brockton, there were only 1 involuntary manslaughter (a guy died from his injuries after a fight in the Lilt bar). But there were many attempted murders, the dunking donut not far from where I was got robbed at gun point, a 7/11 store got robbed with a shot gun, my bank (Harbor one) got raided at gun point... This is not a nice city, not forgetting all the home invasions.

That being said, the community I was in was nice and welcoming, I even miss them

Is Brockton worst than Hartford or other CT cities ? North Hartford probably sketchy area in New England or top 5. Downtown Hartford is nice area but soon go north of I-84 it like another world.

The area around garden street and Albany ave in Hartford is probably the worst area in New England.

The State of Utah has had 24 homicides so far this year, a record for thid far into the year, and over double the 11 at this time last year. A majority of them are in Salt Lake County and other counties in the area.

Philly is far from "out-of-control." If you were from here and read up on the crime statistics, you would see that the murders occur in the same areas that most people from the city and region would typically guess: North Philly (mostly everywhere above Cecil B. Moore Avenue), West Philly (mostly Lancaster Ave to the north, Market Street to the south, 40th Street to the east, and 63rd Street to the west), Southwest Philly, a small portion of South Philly (parts of Point Breeze and Grays Ferry), parts of East Germantown, Kensington, and Frankford. Outside of these areas, you don't really have anything to worry about. Even within these areas, crime is a very block-by-block thing. I've walked the streets of every neighborhood in the city, and I haven't been the victim of a crime.

Philly's crime rate will start to decline once we have a stronger mayor, DA, and police commissioner, and whenever we figure out a better strategy to bust up drug rings. Mayor Kenney seems very lackluster over crime, and DA Larry Krasner has made a few questionable decisions during his tenure. Mayor Nutter and Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey did a good job of suppressing the rate of crime within the city. I believe that the heroin epidemic has a lot to do with the spike in violent crime across nearly all major cities in the US currently.

Raleigh had its 7th homicide last night after a 24-year old fatally stabbed his 47-year old boyfriend:

https://abc11.com/man-dies-after-bei...e-say/5219782/

Raleigh only had 12 murders all last year, which was well below the 18-19 the city typically averages. This year, the 7 currently puts the city on pace for ~30, a number I believe Raleigh hasn't crossed since 2008, so that would be way above average. I expect Raleigh to level off towards the mean, as that makes three domestic homicides of the 7. But both it and Charlotte (currently at 30) are projecting to be way above average on homicides so far this year...
