3) Sacramento, CA - 2.95
4) Fresno, CA - 2.83
5) Portland, OR - 2.6
6) Los Angeles, CA - 2.5

This list looks about right although I’d expect Portland to be a little lower

San Diego is safest city on the West Coast and the country with a murder rate of 0.84 so far this year.

The West Coast is generally the region with the safest big cities in the country, at least in terms of murder.

That list can't be correct... There's still Compton,
Long Beach & San Bernardino...

Bham wiki says 62 homicides through today. I'd give you the link but CD forum doesn't allow links? Also marothisu I repped your post for all the work you did researching.

When you have Portland in the top 5 most hardcore cities in the west, that mean the west got a lot safer... But I mean a lot. Every time I visit Portland, I feel so safe I want to walk at night with a pile of cash in my hand... (figure of speech)

L.A safer than Portland...?

Don't think so....

Long Beach is the 2nd Largest city in LA County with close to half a million people...

It's larger than Tacoma as well,so that's why I say that list is totally incorrect....

Don't trust a site where someone from the burbs of birmingham runs it. Incorrect number.

Official number presented last week by the police chief for the city of birmingham through a press release meeting is 51. Bhamwiki is a local site ran by an outsider that can edit info on it. It's rarely up to date.

According to The Advocate, as of 6-27-19, 37 people have been killed in East Baton Rouge Parish.

That seems more accurate than 90. Earlier in the month it was said that Baton Rouge had 21 homicides so yeah 90 was a stretch.

The official government site for Baton Rouge says 90 committed 1st and 2nd degree murders. A newspaper says 37. Which is correct? I don't know which one, and i go with official government counts over newspaper. No matter the case, it's good to put away your confirmation bias and find out the truth.

One thing is for sure though. Even for a city of 225K, even 25 right now would put it in the top 10.

Understood, although I have no confirmation biased it’s a bit dubious that earlier this month someone posted Baton Rouge had 20 something homicides and now has 90. If your research is accurate then cool, it was just something I noticed.
