Right, that's outstanding. There is nearly 2.8 million people in Miami-Dade County. While the bulk of the homicides are still assuredly in Miami city, any way you look at this, this is an astonishing improvement. The city of Miami still only had 51 murders all of last year...
Miami is becoming more like San Diego and Tokyo. Maybe the Brightline train really helps, not only for the city/region economy but also because the station was built in an area that was notoriously blighted, and the station helped that area to gentrify.
Well, in Chicago is really the black on black crime that is driving the rate up...
Speaking about Chicago, a driver was killed in an failed drive by shooting... His passager wanted to shoot at another vehicle but instead shot his driver on the head...
Talking about dumb gangsters...
If you look at the 2016 victims report for Chicago, there was an overall increase for hispanics & whites too. Just Black victims overshadow those stats. If the Black victims would of decline that year it still would of been a uptick.
Montreal now at 9 after a stabbing downtown. Starting to pick up, but still, 9 homicides on an island of 2.050M+ is rare, especially for a major city. The homicide rate is about 0.76/100,000

Northside: A fight between 2 men escalated into 1 of the men being shot multiple times in the upper body on Enochs St. The victim drove himself to the hospital but still succumbed to his injuries there.

Also, does anyone have information on the following cities:
Columbia? Dayton? Fort Worth? Honolulu? Phoenix? Riverside? San Antonio?
As always, clarifications are welcome, and a big thank you to all contributers!
I know 10 doesn’t seem like a lot for most cities, but 10 for salt lake is our average for a whole year, hopefully it mellows out for the remainder of the year we’ve had a quiet stretch for a couple of weeks.
