Miami is becoming more like San Diego and Tokyo. Maybe the Brightline train really helps, not only for the city/region economy but also because the station was built in an area that was notoriously blighted, and the station helped that area to gentrify.

If you look at the 2016 victims report for Chicago, there was an overall increase for hispanics & whites too. Just Black victims overshadow those stats. If the Black victims would of decline that year it still would of been a uptick.

Montreal now at 9 after a stabbing downtown. Starting to pick up, but still, 9 homicides on an island of 2.050M+ is rare, especially for a major city. The homicide rate is about 0.76/100,000

Northside: A fight between 2 men escalated into 1 of the men being shot multiple times in the upper body on Enochs St. The victim drove himself to the hospital but still succumbed to his injuries there.

Austin, TX is now at 23. The city has seen 7 homicides this month, which is highly unusual.

I know 10 doesn’t seem like a lot for most cities, but 10 for salt lake is our average for a whole year, hopefully it mellows out for the remainder of the year we’ve had a quiet stretch for a couple of weeks.
