Maybe you should stop thinking that the religion you speak of has too did with violence. What a bigoted post.

Looked up Tampa's violent crime stats. Surprised it wasnt that high at all. St. Pete was higher but not terrible either.

Poverty and desperation lead people to commit crimes. It has nothing to do with religion, ethnicity, race, immigration status, etc.

If we create a society in which an individual feels there is no hope for improving themselves and they have nothing to lose, then they will resort to making desperate, sometimes illegal or unethical decisions to have a fighting chance. (There are also just greedy people, but that found in every portion of society).

Im sorry but isnt Europe's crime rate still remarkably below USAs even with 'muslim immigrants' coming about like you see @MrJester ? Kind of makes no sense.. alot of the media coverage on the 'spike' was due to bias media outlets covering the migration to Europe to try and have people negate it.

Although Paris is made out to be dangerous, like any American city if not worse. Of course the attacks have been setting that impression, but more so property crimes such as pickpocketing is what you have to worry about more than anything.

Salt Lake City
Charlotte
San Diego
Minneapolis

Any large city going to have some ghettos to varying degree. But these cities, of all of the cities i've visited over the years, have the least hoods and are pretty clean, well-kept cities.

I agree. Raleigh and Denver are clean as well.

Disagree. Most people who are in poverty and are desperate don't commit crimes. That can be one of many aspects, but it has more to do with homelife (lack of a father) and the heart. The government "created" a segment society in the mid 60's (so called "war of poververty") that made minority communities hopelessly dependent on the government. LBJ had social workers literally going door-to-door presenting to minority women that they could receive more government aid per child by not having a man in the home. The fatherless rate in the black community in 1965 was 25%. Today it's a mindblowing 75%. Government and university studies and statistics prove this. Keeping them dependant, scared, and angry, this purposely created voting constituency still exists today. There have never been more opportunities with scholarships, grants, protective laws to help everyone in our society, especially those in need. But the statistics and timeline don't lie. So to covertly excuse those who commit crimes or suggest that being poor is a precursor to crime as the default outcome is a blatant insult to the poor in this country.

Have you ever been to Singapore? It’s a small urban island with enormous population density. There are police everywhere and they’re rigorous about enforcing everything from spitting & jaywalking to violent crime. Remember the US spoiled brat who got caned for vandalism? It’s the supercharged version of what NYC did with enforcement.

Minneapolis should not be on this list. While it is less blighted than average, it should not be at the top of this list.

Large cities with least blight:
Austin
Raleigh
Virginia Beach
Denver(?-not sure on this one)
Seattle
San Francisco (lots of homeless problems though, which is a different issue)

Charlotte just misses the cut, although it's pretty good in this regard too.
