The energy, vibe and hustle of NYC make any other cities in this country including SF and LA look like vacation spots. No contest at all. Out of the international cities I have been to, probably only Tokyo and Hong Kong can fit into the category of being the “real” fast paced cities. None of the US cities are even remotely close to the pace of NYC.
The can-do attitude, determination and confidence of the New Yorkers are unmatched by any other cities on the planet.
Idk,, New York, Chicago, SF my top picks I guess.. Some other high contenders like Boston, LA and Philly fit the bill as well but not much can top NY...
Where exactly are you comparing it to? The people from NYC and other fast paced places, the density of the areas, the amount of nightlife and partying down there and the fact that it doesn't get cold and slow down like other cities are just some of the reasons why the Miami area has a faster pace year-round day and night than almost all of the cities in the U.S. If we are talking about the entire metro area it ranks even higher..

This doesn't necessarily equate to "fast paced" automatically. I don't find Miami slow paced, but I wouldn't put it in top 5 (but maybe top 10). You could be fast paced, technically, without being in a dense area. In my experience, the fastest paced places are ones that have the most business activity, "hustling".. not sure how else to describe. Nightlife and density could add to it, but there's a lot more to it than that. In my experience, the top places are NYC, Chicago, and DC. can make the case after that or for top 3 for SF, Boston, Philadelphia.. maybe Miami. After that, places like Dallas, LA, and Houston.
This is based on my own personal experiences in these places. Every place has both fast and medium/slow pace. Yes, even NYC
Basically the entire Northeast corridor is pretty fast paced with NYC being the epicenter.
Chicago is a big bustling city that has an energy resembling large Northeastern cities (less NYC).
San Fran and LA are super busy and filled with traffic, but California in general is slower than the Northeast. You can feel it when you travel back and forth.
I never felt Miami to be fast paced, certainly not a top 3... maybe top for the Southeast.
