I'm surprised the Twin Cities are one of the least voted-for options, because I've never heard a thing about their white blue-collar culture.
I think this poll is really two questions wrapped in one - Which cities A) have a decent blue collar culture and B) are under-recognized for that culture.
I don’t think people think Minneapolis has a strong blue-collar culture so it’s not meeting requirement A) above in people’s minds. Although I get that in a way that bolsters its case for getting more votes if it does actually have a decent blue collar culture. And now I’ve gone cross-eyed.
LA. The media advertises the glamorous “Hollywood” entertainment lifestyle, but in reality, only a few can afford to live that lifestyle. The media would like you to believe that everybody lives like that. Most folks in LA are average, hard working people doing regular work. The media never glamorizes them.

Minneapolis, actually, has plenty of blue collar jobs...they just don't talk about it. An example, would be 3M...there are plenty more.
What the hell is blue-collar culture? Do you really just mean a city full of broke-ass white people?
No, people who might be skilled in a trade, and manufacture things that you use every day. If not for them, your life would be MUCH more challenging. Here's one for you...if someone didn't build your car, what would you drive? Could you build your own home, wire your home for electricity; fix plumbing problems, build and install a furnace......ETC. Your question is cavalier and disrespectful.
Next time you need: a new roof, a new fuel pump in your car, your tires rotated, new windows, and new window installation, beautiful new wood floors (going to cut the trees down yourself, plane them, etc.?), need to cook something (going to build your stove?). You get the picture by now. The world as we know it, would cease to be, without blue collar workers. A big thank you might be nice, rather than mocking them.

The shipping industry in LA County is number one,, and I think statewide it's agriculture. People automatically think it's film & television. Most people who come to LA rarely if ever head below Wilshire Blvd and venture into the real LA. The local LA. There's plenty of hard working - blue collar types residing there.
Boston. Boston has a reputation for being the most posh and cleanest East Coast city and one of the largest cities for Health Care, Finance, Education and Biotechnology. Which is true... however, heading to the burbs and outskirts shows you Boston's immense Blue Collar feel it isn't really representative of.
New York too.
