Do Cali and Hawaii beaches/surf spots have high shark populations like Florida’s East coast?

In Hawaii they have a "Man of War" watch is a which is highly venomous stinging jelly fish. There have been reports of shark attacks in Hawaii though.. In Southern California I know they have shark attacks for sure , but less than Florida..

Sharks used to be rarely seen in SoCal. In the past few years, there have been more and more shark sightings and even a few attacks. Twice this summer, while my daughter was at the beach in San Clemente, lifeguards ordered everyone out of the water due to sightings of a large shark.

Stingrays have always been very common in California. Stinging jellyfish, not so much.

I've been stung by a man-o-war once on FL's Gulf Coast. It sucked, but I'll take that any day over the risk of a shark bite.
