Well a couple days ago in Philly it was 92 degrees lol I made a beach day out of it and the ocean is still a nice cool 70 degrees---but I'm afraid that will be it for "Summer Days" or "Indian Summer" we usually have early October. It will still be in the mid-70s for a good while though at least.
Usually summer in Birmingham starts in early to mid May and lasts into the first couple of weeks in September when the 90's fall into the 80's and we know summer is eventually coming to a close. This year however we are still in the 100's and have been throughout September (103 as of Oct 3rd) and still blazing today at 95.
3 months in Philly. Pretty much the same for each on the other three seasons, as well.
While I do think Philly comes closer to four even seasons than most areas in the USA, I think you are optimistic on the summer end. I would say it lasts from June to the end of September, which really ends up feeling like four months. Heck, it was just 90-something degrees here a few days ago. I think we have like four months of summer, 2.5 of spring and fall, and 3 months of winter. That is my perspective as someone who grew up in Upstate NY (my definition of summer and winter may be quite different).

Mid June to mid to late September is true summer here. It can be hot from early May to mid June, and during early to mid October, but nothing like summer.
