Anyhow here's a stat I was looking at.

I think that's the median home value. Sounds right for Denver, high for Omaha. HH incomes seem very high.

Anyone have the date for MSA? That seems like a better way to measure a city/region.

Also, is there median income numbers for the top 5? I'm only asking because that can give an idea in terms of where half of that group is in terms of income, above or below said figure.

New York and LA are far above everywhere else in this category because they are much larger sample size. We're talking about 159K for New York.

Yea, I'm confused. Didn't know Dallas would be more than San Diego though. I do agree, I think this is median home value?

This is the mean HH income of the top 5% households. That's why the numbers are so high.

In any case means are not the best way to look at income numbers since there can be a lot of very high earners that can skew the figures a little. Looking at the 95th percentile would also be interesting.

No, the census bureau does not produce a stat for median incomes by quintile or the top 5%, only by mean(average).

I really like the stat below because I think it best represents the average family in these cities, or at least families where there are 2 earners.
