...and yet he was still gunned down and killed on Chicago’s swanky Oak Street on a Tuesday afternoon in broad daylight.
Ya that was my original statement. The dispute was whether or not he qualifies as being famous. He's on Drill's Mt. Rushmore which was the biggest influence on the rap scene for a decade.

No dispute, never heard of him until he was taken out on Oak Street.
Most recent official stats from LAPD, as of 8/15, LA was at 188, up from 164 in 2019 at that date and 163 at that date in 2018. So, LA is up about 15% from the last 2 years.
3 shot dead overnight in NYC, another person in critical - 8 shot so far today
3 dead on 8/19, 2 stabbed to death, 1 shot to death - 10 people shot on Thursday
1 fatal shooting on 8/18 and one critical - 9 people shot total on Wednesday
So since Wednesday, NYC has had at least 7 homicides, with 27 people shot. Unfortunately, this doesn't bode well going into the weekend where we had 51 shot last weekend alone.
NYPD stated that half the shootings this year originate in Brooklyn, whether it happened there, or because a BK beef spilled to another borough. They seem to believe that among other factors, there is an ongoing Blood vs Crip war that started since Pop Smoke got killed in LA.
Pop Smoke got killed on Feb 19th.
NYC started the year with less shootings than last year up to May, when things just exploded. NYC monthly shootings.
January- 66
February- 45
March - 56
April- 56
May - 100
June - 205
July - 244
August (thru 8/16) - 124
August is on pace for over 200 as well. To put in perspective how high the shootings have gotten this summer... in 1996 there were a total of 2,938 people shot in NYC, that averages to about 245 people shot a month..... June 2020 had 270 people shot, and July 2020 had ridiculous 302 people shot.
Overall NYC is just below 2012 total shooting levels, but remember NYC had a great start to the year in shootings from January to April. If the first 4 months were "normal" levels, or if this summer trend continues, NYC would be up to mid 90's levels of shootings. Right now, NYC is playing catch up.
Murder rate is higher because of shootings, so I don't think NYC has gotten more "murderous", its just a result of all the extra shootings. It will be interesting to see what the fall and winter bring, cause many lives are being lost due to this unfortunate gun violence.
