To answer the question posed in the title of the thread, if I had to choose the one region that best balances cost of living and economic opportunities with a robust Black cultural infrastructure and a balance of largely positive QOL indicators, pound for pound it would be the NC Triangle (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill). It's not everyone's cup of tea but I'd argue it represents the line of best fit here.
Me and my Wife seriously considered moving to NC Triangle area. One of the more underrated areas in the states for Black Americans. For us it pretty much came down to them not having an industry for our careers to thrive in and having little to no family in the area. But I definitely like the area.

Yep, yep. That “chasing whiteness”, “seeking white validation” mentality that is all too common in Boston, Metro Boston, and Massachusetts.
this is just the opinion you've had since page 1 and are always going to hold. You're not here for any real intellectual conversation regarding Boston at least.
This is100% how Aries and Redlion have approached Boston:
The city make racial progress=bad/pandering.
NAACP conference, several movies regarding black life shot here, growing black population, high black birthrate, hgh black incomes= "not on the radar"ignored
The city addresses racism=racism.
The city does not address racism=racism.
Neighborhoods with a lot of black people=segregation.
Neighborhood without a lot of black people=segregation.
Integrated neighborhoods=no black culture.
Black diversity=weak African American Culture.
African American culture+ "thats nothing" or ignore/irrelevant.
Stolen gubernatorial elections in FL and GA=ignored
Posts about professional black making big differences in Metro boston Minority communities (myBay Stat Banner links)= not addressed
"Where exactly did you live in Boston area? aries"=no answer 30 something pages in
Its a joke.
It is people like you who do absolutely nothing toe engage or help the black community in Boston that hurt the city further all in the claim of being "pro-black" no youre pro black where and how you want it in ways that palatable and familiar to you. its just close minded and childish on both of y'alls part.
NO one ever made t about Boston being a top 10 city. You just ragged on the city incessantly and took offense that someone wouldn't want to live in the South. Your ego couldn't handle that small facetand when people defended the city you went through umpteen pages of dug up slander. I've never got there and posted negative link about any of the places yall live even thoughive seen video where they got black people living next to nasty ass pork slaughter houses in North Carolina-wherethe porkbtit infiltrate the air so heavy and so bad the kids cant breathe and you have mexican children picking tobacco in NC right now. -yet im the hater.?
Be real.
The reason you had a tough time making friends in Boston is because you're really committed to being an insufferable, anti-intellectual AND stubborn PITA. At least that's what I gleam from your online posts.

You said it!He just doesnt get it. He keeps telling people that they dont know about Boston so they shouldnt speak but it seems he really hasnt been out of Boston to see how different and better it is in MANY places.
People dont just talk bad about a place for no reason.Something happened at some point where Boston got such a negative reputation when it comes to racism,
Its not 1964 so things arent that bad anywhere in America where a black person cant flourish, but there are some places that are better than others and thats just the honest truth
I haven't even lived in Boston in 3 years and before that i had not lived in boston since 2012...
It's a close call but I think a lower cost of living and not as much of a reputation for crime in general (although Durham in particular has made its fair share of headlines concerning crime over the years) gives the Triangle the edge. That's why I also specified that it is a 'pound for pound' assessment from my perspective.
I hear you...My only pause about the Triangle is the gentrification in Durham and SE Raleigh, which are some of the blackest parts of the area. I know that is happening everywhere to some degree, but it makes me wonder what happens to the people in those areas and if the area is going the way of Austin.
Last time I checked Massachusetts has the same racial disparity problems as the rest of America.
Matter fact according to the data(Cause I pose receipts) Boston had a stop and frisk and police brutality problem no different than most major cities in America.
Mass also has a mass incarceration problem within the black community even though your state has the lowest mass incarceration percentage in the nation.
Racial disparity is still a thing in Massachusetts.
But according to you, Boston has GOOD WHITE FOLK! LOL *They treat us good* tone. Because you can enjoy the biggest 4th of July celebration everything is ALRIGHT in Beantown. Hey Boston is finally integrating their faces in the local political arena. We've made it BOSS! lol I don't excuse or downplay the south's racism. The problem is America in general is racist. Including Boston.
In the masslive link you posted both NYC and Philadelphia have higher rates of stops for blacks. Despite NYC having a smaller share of its populaiton that s black thanBosotn ..
"New York's data show at least 83 percent of stops through the first three quarters of 2016 involved blacks or other minorities. From 2011 to 2014, they averaged roughly 84 percent of stops.
Philadelphia police provide regular data as part of a court order. The most recent report, which covers the first half of 2015, shows minorities accounted for 77 percent of stops during that period."
Compare that to 73% of Bostonian stops.
nevermind arrest have declined 40% in recent years in Boston...
Police Commissioner William Evans said Wednesday that the numbers, when put into context by researchers working this past year to analyze them, will show officers are focusing on the people and places where violence happening.
"The numbers are what they are," he said. "We've got one of the safest cities in America, and it's because of the job we do. If we weren't focusing on these people in these neighborhoods, then people would be saying we weren't doing our job."
Mayor Marty Walsh said arrests have gone down roughly 40 percent in the past three years, partly because police are identifying at-risk youths in street encounters and intervening before they can commit more serious crimes."
Homicides in Boston hit a 20 year low in 2019. We only had 38 homicides for a homicide rate of less than 6 per 100k. Can any of your lovely southern cities tout the same low rate of crime aside from Austin or maybe Raleigh? https://www.bostonglobe.com/2020/01/...19-police-say/

Massachusetts literally has the lowest black incarceration rate iN=n the LOWER 48 redlion. Lowest Aside from hawaii... why do you insist on ignoring these facts?? That doesn't count for anything huh?And it remains bottom 3 states for overall gun violence.
I get the thread is subjective but tit wouldn't be so laughably easy to "counter" you guys if you even entertained even a little bit of objective evidence that showed Bostons many many positives.

Where the density claim comes from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...er_square_mile (Irvington NJ is a township and South Floral Park NY is a village, with Poplar Hills KY and East Orange NJ being 1 and 2 in terms of the claim.)
naw it really doesn't but bro basically backhandedly tried to call Boston Blacks coons on several occasions and I cannot let that fly.
I would like to not have Boston be central to the thread because it is not particularly central to Black America even if it is a pretty good-and improving locale.
