Sophistication is not cruising in a custom Range Rover bought with drug money or stolen exotic animal money while listening to thuggy hip hop and whatever mind-bending trance beat you picked up at da klub last night.
Sophistication is intelligence, decency, and a certain cultural beauty. Miami, of course, exhibits none of those.

Talk about ignorance.
Is your ex from Miami or something?
Um, not really. Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale, Weston, Boca Raton, Lake Worth, etc are all very nice.
Ft. Lauderdale is entitely a dump west of US 1, and a gem east of it. Unfortunately at least 2/3 of Ft. Lauderdale is west of US 1. But, all of that aside, Ft. Lauderdale is not a suburb of Miami. It's a city itself that has grown nearly as large as Miami. And Weston and Boca, while quite nice, are suburbs of Ft. Lauderdale, not Miami. On most days Boca is at least an hour on I 95 from central Miami. It's like calling San Diego a suburn of Los Angeles.
Miami's suburbs are awful, poverty-rife places like Hialeah and N. Miami Beach mixed with nicer enclaves like Aventura and Coral Gables.

And within Miami (besides just South Beach) you have:
Fisher Island (wealthiest zip code in USA; restricted access).
Millionaires Row (between mid beach and North Beach)
Bal Harbour
La Gorce
Star Island
Palm Island
Venetian Islands
Hibiscus Island
Normandy Isles
Indian Creek
Brickell
Key Biscayne
Cocoplum
Gables Estates
Pinecrest
..many of above communities with accompanying yachts/mega yachts...and that’s just Miami—not including other areas that are part of the MSA, such as Palm Beach, Jupiter, Boca, Ft Lauderdale, etc etc etc.
That being said, my (biased) order would be Miami, Atlanta, and Seattle—taking nothing away from Seattle by this ranking.
Foreign, tell us how you really feel about Miami—don’t hold back..lol

Seattle might have been that much closer to being world class if they hadn't turned down the metro system in 1968 and again in 1970, which was subsequently given to Atlanta, a city that today is much less dense than Seattle and could really do without a heavy rail. Now Seattle's scrambling to build all the light rail they can to make up for it.

What do you mean by this? Atlanta may not be particularly dense, but its rail system is extremely effective, and serves the most critical nodes (for the most part.) I use it all the time when I go there, and I love it.
Miami is my ex. I left a year and a half ago. Thr absolute worst place I've ever been.
I would have to be paid BIG money to ever move to Miami. I mean, outright money...over a million, or so. Well, that will never happen, so I don't have to worry about it, LOL.
1)Seattle = Miami,, but in different ways.. Seattle being more livable of the two. 2) Atlanta
