There's no such thing are apples-to-apples office statistics (speaking as a builder of offices who needs to track this stuff). But the gist is correct...DT Seattle much larger than DT Vancouver in office space, and the gap has been widening.

Thank you. That is a big divergence. No wonder Vancouver has a well-publicized office space shortage these days.

But if there is a real shortage, the market would be building more office space, right? I'm not sure I buy there is a real shortage, but correct me if I am wrong. Perhaps there are several office projects under construction or planned? (I don't follow Vancouver that closely).

Portland, OR shouldn't even be up for debate anymore, and at this point Burnaby, BC has overtaken Portland for the #3 spot, with Bellevue, WA and Surry, BC competing with Portland, OR for the #4 spot.

City: Tallest building (U/C) | # > 100m (328 ft) (U/C)
Burnaby: 616 ft (708 ft) | 20 (5)
Portland: 546 ft (460 ft) | 8 (1)
Surry: 516 ft (438 ft) | 9 (5)
Bellevue: 450 ft (600ft) | 8 (4)

Burnaby, BC
