This may seem like a ridiculous comparison because it is. These two cities are on two different levels. Reno is small, everyone is connected, and it's more in touch with nature. Phoenix is massive, one is lost in a sea of humanity and urban sprawl. Humor me though..
I was born and have lived most of my life in Reno and absolutely love living here but maybe I just feel that way because it's familiar. If I had to pin point a few things that I love about Reno it would be the mountains that tower over the city, the proximity to Tahoe, the cultural influence of Northern California (the good things),our weather since it's never that miserable in any season, and the fact that everyone I know, knows someone else that I know but no one is really in anyone else's business.
The reason Phoenix comes into question is because a bunch of my family has decided to move there and I've been toying with the idea of moving myself due to the possibility of there being more opportunity there even though I'm in entertainment so it's really pointless unless I'm in LA but I'm not asking about that because I can work from anywhere. Anyways, aside from that I feel like it would be nice being in a bigger city.
Another thing that I need some clarification on is the tax structure for an LLC and individual in Arizona vs Nevada. Here in Nevada we have no income tax and no corporate tax. Arizona I know has both income and corporate tax which is a bummer. For those of you who are incorporated in Arizona is the burden terrible or manageable in your opinion?
What I'm wondering is how would you stack Reno vs Phoenix? List the good and bad for you and please have experience with these places, not just a one time visit.

Thank you!
I've lived in Phoenix for 19 years and have been to Reno a few times when I drove OTR.
I choose Phoenix between those two honestly.
Reno only wins for better summer weather, and if you work in gaming (i.e. casinos), Reno is better obviously
Albuquerque and Tucson are closer to each other than Albuquerque and Phoenix.
Phoenix is better off being compared to other major cities like Dallas, Atlanta, Tampa. To say Phoenix is like a city 1/5 it's size is just an inaccurate comparison, and frankly rather ignorant of Phoenix's influence in this country. Approximately 5 million people live here, a million larger than Seattle.
Phoenix/Scottsdale metro area is massive with a huge variety of housing, entertainment,, jobs, etc. Lived there for 9 years before a job relo. If you can handle the summer weather a great place to live, very metropolitan.
As a big city Phoenix is very livable especially if you enjoy access to the outdoors, hiking, mountain biking, road cycling, kayaking, multiple lakes, and even Arizona's high country are all very accessible from the metro area. Compared to a mega-city like New York, Chicago, or LA it's still a fairly low congestion level, you don't spend your life in traffic here, and the weather is similar to Reno in that it's dry and sunny a lot, just the temperatures are higher.
I can't help on the LLC question, that's completely outside of my knowledge.
