These two cities are pretty much the same size on paper, and both have very heavy sprawl. Which one of these cities, when you are in the city core, feels like a bigger city and by how much?

I’ve been to both only once or twice but I think KC feels bigger they have a slightly more impressive skyline but it seems Indy is more sprawly.

Kansas City looks and feels bigger. Indianapolis becomes more suburban/rural looking faster outside the core.

I haven't been to either, but I don't see how Indy could possible feel like the larger city.

KC feels denser. Indy feels more spread out. So it kind of depends on what your definition of "feels bigger" is.

They are both really sprawly. KC sprawls farther and feels bigger, because it is.

I've been to KC twice and spent extensive time in Indy. Kansas City wins moderately. Its urban landscape surely makes it feel bigger than Indy.

We call it the country club plaza or the plaza.

I have visited both. Indy is more sprawling. KCMO is more impressive with its architecture. Indy slightly better skyline, but KC has some older historic buildings that are impressive. Both have good freeway systems and transit. Airports are competitive, but not hubs. Indy rebuilt their airport in the past decade, and it is one of the best. KC is in the process of doing the same. Very close vote for me, but I voted slightly toward KCMO.
