Fort Worth just seems real to me. Real people, rich local culture. San Jose is a processed, sterilized city that just checks the boxes.

I prefer Ft. Worth, hands down. Ft. Worth is lightyears more affordable. Way more livable in so many ways in my experience.

Fort Worth certainly has a certain identity and charm about it that is a unique combination of things.

And what are those many ways? Schools? Crime? Job opportunities? Climate? Recreation? Access to top quality health care? Top universities?

Please, explain.

I've only passed through San Jose once in my life and that was back in 2001.

From what I actually know about the city that Fort Worth doesn't have: mountains, near ocean, and a heavy Tech scene.

I would say SJ has their own major sports teams, but over the years, I've just accepted we're probably never going to get any major pro teams of our own... although you could technically say the Rangers and Cowboys since they play in OUR county, but no one sees it that way.
