Memphis can be underrated for its culture, but no city in its weight class can touch New Orleans here. Not many cities can, period.

New Orleans has incredible culture overall, better than most cities in the US. New Orleans is in a distinctive league of its own.

Memphis is no slouch either, but comparing any city to New Orleans, other than cities much larger than New Orleans, like New York, Chicago or LA, is not a fair comparison, really.

New Orleans beats most.

New Orleans is better for culture. There is no French quarter or comparable downtown attractions.

Memphis is very solid, and underrated.

New Orleans is world class in it's unique culture. This isn't really a fair comparison.
