Acually in that poll 40% voted closer to ny and 60 % voted in the middle or closer to Boston...the people voting closer to nyc are just wrong as they would be if they vote closer to nyc in this thread

Not by me.

and in aggregate more people said it was right in between or closer to Boston than said it was closer to NYC.

But yea it’s closer in city population, economic output, MSA to Boston/SF than NYC. That’s obvious.

Nonetheless NYC had more votes than Boston, so it's more debatable than you think (well at least on Citydata)

Same as Boston thread...

NYC is so much larger than any city not named LA, that it's comparison with Chicago is superficial at best (there both urban and have massive skylines)

Chicago is closer in economic/international standing with SF/Boston/DC/Philly than it is to NYC/LA

Dude. They’re just wrong. Like flat out wrong. There’s not much to support that it’s closer to NYC. Theres virtually nothing I could think of other than land area of the city proper or maybe the skyline.

People voting for Chicago closer to nyc in that thread had and have zero rationale...nyc stature is London and Paris - Chicago is closer to San Fran, dc, Boston in stature...I would rank them
Nyc>>>>>>>>>la>>>>>>Chicago>>>dc/San Fran>>Boston
