You are being intentionally obtuse.
The missing retail and people in those pictures of 14th and U Street at that time are right where they're located on Benning Road and Minnesota Avenue right now. They're coming soon...

Here is where all the people and retail are...

Forgot, there are a few more people here...

Again this is a bus depot/station and box retail not an urban village. If that’s all OP wants then yea but if they want a somewhat desirable/hip urban walkable area with plurality African Americans there are better options in DC. The former is readily available all over the US. I assume OP is looking for thing a bit more top shelf since there is an emphasis on professional vibes
If you're spending this much time on a broken-down intersection that's only a block away from surface lots and big box stores to prove Ward 7's vibrancy, then the battle has already been lost.

DOES and Park 7 Building

The desirable HIP/urban location is coming. Just like everything else in DC, be patient, it's coming...

It’s literally .2 miles away and a three min it e walk per google maps. https://goo.gl/maps/FG2FLC2kbXDTfvG3A

Put it this way there’s one building (DOES) between the bus depot and Park 7..it’s RIGHT THERE. Of course I’ve been to the area on many occasions, I referenced the bus depot first.

It’s a 3/4 minute walk from the intersection.Objective fact.

Also, here's the urbanity surrounding that intersection. It looks exactly like Columbia Heights did in the 80s /s/

Look at all of these pedestrians in the West End. It's easy to mistake it for 125th Street or 52nd Street in West Philly. As MDAllStar said about Benning Road, this is an every day look at Ralph David Abernathy.

I have seen this and have driven past it recently (pre-COVID). I am very interested to see how SE will develop, especially along the Green Line.
