It not the worst. I lived in NYC and that was the worst I've seen. I think Las Vegas is much less segregated than Boston. But Boston being one of the worst on that regard? No

Most people don't even seem to know that Boston is majority minority. There's a reason for that.

Bosstonborn has talked about this extensively

NYC is pretty socially segregated too, but less so.

I don’t think this is a fair comparison. Las Vegas is one of the best places in the country to visit for entertainment, dinning and gambling in a short vacation. On the other hand, Boston is much more developed, much less segregated and offers much more as a city. I slightly prefer Vegas’s weather to Boston’s. But I can’t imagine surviving Vegas’s dry hot summer without AC.

The housing prices in Vegas have gone up pretty quickly in recent years. Yes, Vegas is still significantly cheaper than Boston, but not by the margin it was ten or fifteen years ago.
Boston is much more segregated. Las Vegas is one of the least segregated cities in the US. Very different in that respect, everything else was correct.

If by segregated you meant like in terms orf residential verse commercial...because I have to assume that’s what you meant...then yes, Boston has less segregated land use and more mixed use areas.

Boston is not the absolute worse residentially. It is similar to NYC Philly and Baltimore the dissimilarity index. It’s not as bad as Milwaukee Chicago or maybe Pittsburgh, but it’s bad.

Socially? culturally? it’s definitely much worse than NYC and every other city Ive been to.

Yeah I meant socially & culturally. Honestly I don't think those numbers that nerds at NYT crunch out are necessarily that meaningful, they'll rank NYC as number 1, above places that are obviously more segregated in day to day life.
