Mexico City hands down. Not knocking the other two but Mexico City is on another level. I’m surprised, actually, that CDMX doesn’t have the notoriety of the European heavyweights.

Mexico CIty is probably the most underappreciated, undervalued and underestimated city in North America. It is the largest, one of the most diverse and arguably the most impressive city here in North America. My vote is there.

Ottawa at #2.

Been to DC >20 times.

I usually don't respond to sock-puppet accounts, but yes, and I still own a home there. Been to Ottawa numerous times (business trips with the government). Not somewhere I'd like to visit on my own free time but to each their own.

Sure, I forgot you are a super busy person who travels around the world and somehow manages to spend all day in a forum. LOL

Funny, considering you said you no longer live there (if you even did, which we all doubt) and now all of a sudden you still "own" a house there in a city you hate... so which is it? Also business trips with government eh? I'll see if you're truthful there or not (considering you know... I work in government)

Anyway, yes, I've been to Ottawa many times for business (meeting with the national government of Canada). Can't say I've ever visited for pleasure but if my experiences on business are any indication, it's not a place I'd spend my PTO on.

I haven't visited Mexico City - it's surely on my list of places to visit next! Only been to Monterrey in Mexico (business again).

to visit - CDMX. It's a mammoth in this continent and hemisphere and has the vitality and energy the other two cannot match

to thrive - DC. Educated, liberal, interesting and livable and full of opportunity for those who are ambitious

to live - Ottawa. Clean, safe, family oriented but quite dull.
