Overall Savannah. Maybe since I'm more familiar with it.

I would rather live in Savannah for the setting. The historical architecture, the giant, moss-covered oaks everywhere, and proximity to the beach at Tybee Island.

Not sure about a future. It could be hard to compare since the cities are so different in size.

Those are traveling categories in my opinion.....I’ve lived in Savannah years ago and didn’t enjoy it living there (got old quick) and wouldn’t choose it for younger people. I’d definitely would rather live in Memphis though. But Savannah is such a nice get away place for a few days.

Nightlife - Probably Memphis
Safety - Savannah by a nose
Things to do - Overall, Memphis
Culture - Savannah
Food - Tie

And which city has a brighter future? Memphis overall

I love visiting both cities, but wouldn't want to live in either. But if I had to choose, I'd take Memphis. Just has more to do on the whole because of its size, has more of a 4-season climate, and has a more diversified economy.

I'd choose to live in Memphis...it's just bigger and has more to offer, and also has its own versions of things Savannah is known for (Beale St, local culture, cuisine, sites of interest, large annual festivals). At this point, Savannah is still more of a niche city to me without a lot of the metropolitan amenities I'm used to. Very few cities can beat it as a tourist destination though.
