That, Seattle, Minneapolis—reason I asked what type of boat...if yachts, no question Ft Lauderdale /greater Miami MSA (to include Miami/Miami Beach and Palm Beach).

Here is an interesting stat: the combined Miami International Boat Show (which also includes Ft Lauderdale) has a regional economic impact of $854M, or roughly twice the economic impact of a Super Bowl. Didn’t realize it was THAT huge:
“The Miami International Boat Show produces a $854 million economic impact and generates $53 million in visitor spending. Studies anticipated that the 100,000+ visitors for the Super Bowl would generate between a $400-500 million economic impact.”
This following article is slightly dated (2013) but shows the states with the greatest economic impact from boating activity, which I would assume would go hand in hand with boating culture:
Everyone in Long Island owns a boat so it seems, and people in Manhattan take cruises and those Spirit things too. Boston is huge for boating. Every little inlet has hundreds of boats and yachts and everything. Greater Boston definitely excels in that category. I find the boating culture in the city of Boston to be the largest per capita wise than any other city. Marina's and Ferrys everywhere. Also so many people from Jersey will go to Boston area for boating since boating isnt big here at all. Its pretty average.

The Ft. Lauderdale show by itself is the largest in the world. Last year it had an economic impact of $1.3 billion. Miami is also one of the largest shows in the world. Your article says the Miami show by itself had an economic impact of $854 million. The two are not combined.

Help me out...so the Ft Lauderdale International Boat Show (and its $1.3B economic impact) is separate from and in addition to the Miami International Boat Show (and its $854M economic impact?...if so, that’s $2 Billion+ annually for the region combined.

Yea exactly. One is in February and one is in October. The money that flows around down there is nuts.
Maimi. Miami. Miami. No other US city comes close. Yes, you have some other major boating cities in the US, but I would say Miami's proximity to the Bahamas really drives a whole other level of boating/yachting in the USA, that you only see in the Mediterranean, compared to anywhere else in the USA. Especially when it comes to Yachts.

That’s the same economic impact just from these shows as 4-5 Super Bowls—annually....wow.
