Are you stuck on those 3 areas? I was thinking of the Augusta GA area, which is home to the Medical College of Georgia. It is affiliated with Augusta University. Columbia County outside of the city has relatively good schools. Places such as Evans and Martinez(has an Anglicized pronounciation) are a couple of nice, middle class suburbs in that county.
Im raising a puppy here. Food and people are great. Weather is ideal. Andtheres a lot of natural environment things to do!
That is nice. I like that Greensboro is a well rounded city. My cousin almost chose it over Durham, but he wanted his wife to be closer to family. Greensboro is easy to get around. Meanwhile in Chattanooga they are still working on Highway 27 and I 24/75 interchange but that really won't be enough the way the area is growing and serves as the main gateway to Georgia and Florida travelers.
Comprehensive economic data that shows the contribution of different sectors to the local economy would be more useful.
All I could find is really no different than what the census and state governments have. You are much better at finding that information. My point was that Chattanooga could work harder to attract more higher paying jobs. It likely is insignificant to the op, but is a weakness imo. It is not really Chattanooga's fault considering its location between two very competitive regions and the fact that Tennessee is not aggressive in terms of promoting other regions outside of Middle Tennessee.

I get it. One would've thought landing the VW plant some years back, or even all the positive press it's gotten over the years for revitalizating its riverfront, would've resulted in a bit more economic momentum for the region.
Chattanooga is ok but has bad infrastructure and its economy is heavily based on tourism.
