I know the count is from Wikipedia, but is that correct? How could a 9 story department store only have 129,000SF of floor space? Unless a lot of the building is offices?

It’s not a very big store. The top floors are used for corporate offices.

Gotcha. I guess I keep thinking of the massive flagship department stores in NYC. When I read 9 stories, I think massive.

Yeah, we had much larger downtown flagship department stores in the past. Neiman’s was much smaller than all of the other downtown department stores. Neiman’s local rival Sanger-Harris had nearly 500,000 sq ft of space before it closed in the late 80s.

The luxury shopping moved to the north in Dallas, so a full nine story store isnt feasible

Didn’t they plan to move those offices as well?

it's from their website.

Not sure how much of that is actual retail space but I'm guessing most of it.
