Point Reyes National Seashore. Much More Prettier with Mountains and Valleys. Gulf Islands have none of that and Proximity to San Francisco/ Northern California doesn't hurt
Toronto or Boston
Boston. I love its history, its walkable neighborhoods, its cultural and historic sites and artifacts, and its New England clam chowder. I visited Toronto once, and while it wasn't bad, honestly I didn't see what the hype was about.

Nashville, TN or New Orleans, LA?
New Orleans
The food, culture, history, and neighborhoods to explore are more to my liking where as Nashville seems more limited by comparison.

Cincinnati or Cleveland?
Cleveland because I am familiar with Cincinnati. Cleveland appears to have more to do in its metro and nice suburbs. I like the fabric of the city and where it is flat, it would be easier to navigate as a pedestrian.
I'd pick Denver because I've never been out there. I've been through Charlotte a few times and it's nice, but it's very "corporate" and doesn't seem like an interesting place to visit as a tourist.
Steamboat Springs, Colorado or Concrete, Washington?

Steamboat Springs. George Washington's home/museum in Mt. Vernon, VA or Thomas Jefferson's home Monticello in Charlottesville, VA?

As historical sites, I view both are equal in terms of interest. I'll pick Monticello for the scenic surrounding countryside and nearby Charlottesville that I'd want explore.
to spend a week in one state, the total package (can not include NYC or DC).

New Jersey or Maryland?
Maryland. Baltimore, the Eastern Shore, the sliver of Appalachian Mountains.
