Detroit is right at the 150 mark. 300 plus is looking like a real possibility again this year.

Tampa and St Petersburg are both at 20.

But like other cities, many other crimes are actually down.

Between NE and SE alone is about 75 and another 50+across the border in PG county. That alone is about 125 in a population 600k.

About 60% of the 86 within the District are East of the River, where just 20% of the city lives.

Meanwhile, Wards 2 & 3, pop 150,000, have had just two homicides this year. The safe parts of DC seem to be staying reasonably safe.

2020 murder rate in Virgina is highest since late 1990s(1998)

Police reported 537 homicides in 2020, up from 455 in 2019, bringing the rate per 100,000 residents to just over six — a number last seen in 1998 as the crime wave that peaked earlier in the decade began to taper off, according to FBI reports.
