Yes, that is the thing with Buffalo and really Upstate NY in general. Neighborhoods like that are still relatively affordable. Consider the taxes, but even then, it is still relatively affordable in comparison to other parts of the Northeast and really on a national level.

This is a somewhat similar area in Rochester's 19th Ward called the Sibley-Elmdorf Historic District or Sibley Tract: https://censusreporter.org/profiles/...p-1-monroe-ny/

Another block group in the district that is more lower middle class, but has a higher percentage: https://censusreporter.org/profiles/...p-2-monroe-ny/

Yea he’s within like 3 block of here. It was/is but in the mid 1980s a gang got supplanted and it’s just a constant in the background shootings every couple weeks, can get heated more some summers. But it’s controlled and they’re not out much very very little blight.

But it is surely home to many middle class black people especially east of Humboldt Ave where there’s much less violence than in between Humboldt and walnut from Seaver down to MLK. This streetview is east of Humboldt

In the Autobiography of Malcolm X he refers to this as the “Hill” The 1940s this was the frontier for black Bostonians.being pushed southward out of downtown.

A similar type of area in Mount Vernon NY: https://censusreporter.org/profiles/...estchester-ny/

I'm wondering if Jersey City is too dense to have a similar type of neighborhood.
