TBH I don't think there's that much separation between St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland. We are talking hair thin separation at best. While I'm sure the average citizen is going to be able to identify St. Louis easiest because of the arch, it don't think it has a brand above heads above the rest of these cities. Really none of these cities are obscure.

My ranking:
St. Louis
half point lower: Cleveland/Pittsburgh
half point lower: Cincinatti
half point lower: Milwaukee/Indy

These are all within spitting distance of the Ohio River and the Great Lakes. It looks like they all got a specific geographic profile, which is the eastern half of Midwest, more or less.

KC is very worthy, and should definitely be on the list.

I'm a bit surprised Pittsburgh is winning. I think it's St. Louis followed by Cleveland/Pittsburgh (tied).

After that, I think it's Indianapolis, followed by Cincy and Milwaukee tied.

I’ll be honest, prior to Lebron, I couldn’t have told you the difference between Cincinnati and Cleveland.

If Bud is the world wide known brand from St. Louis, Heinz is the world wide known brand from Pittsburgh. Heinz products are just as global as Budweiser.

I voted St. Louis, but don't forget Pittsburgh also has its steelmaking heritage as a drawing card, and that heritage is very well known (they called Birmingham, Ala., "the Pittsburgh of the South").

Indeed. I have a can of Heinz Spotted Dick on a shelf in my kitchen as a laugh item ("spotted dick" is an English pudding; Heinz products are every bit as much household names in the UK as they are in the US).

Heinz is famous, but ketchup eating has a less rabid fanbase as beer drinkers.
