You are most likely unfamiliar with Nashville if you believe it is mostly country music crowds. Nashville has several other districts than Broadway. This is not an exhaustive list and does not include offerings from Nashville's colleges and universities which have their own concerts, shows, plays, and festivals.
I don't think anyone believes there's literally nothing else to offer in Nashville other than the country music scene. The city has matured in recent years and offers more breath to its cultural scene now than at any other time.
But in comparison to a much larger and more cosmopolitan metro area like Philadelphia, it's becomes glaring that Nashville has more work do to become well-rounded and less "niche."
In many ways, it's still very coming into its own as a larger city.

Even the very first link you posted had a gang of Honky Tonk bars and clubs. But your a Nashville native clearly you know your city better than I do. Maybe suggesting Nashville leans HEAVY to that type of crowd was a bit of a overstatement. I'm also well aware Nashville has more to offer for non-country music lovers. Just that Philly's nightlife has more variety and fits my style more than what Nashville has to offer.

Agreed. The hot chicken thing is overrated and country music is background noise to most locals not really into it. Nashville could do a much better job promoting other aspects of the city's cultural heritage.
I'd definitely give the edge to Philly based on sheer size but Nashville is no slouch with nightlife given it's population. Not sure of too many cities it's size with a Conrad, Virgin, Hyatt, Four Seasons, JW Marriott, Omni and possible Fairmont and Ritz Carlton in the near future if it was a "one trick pony cow town".

I agree. Philadelphia is the clear winner to me due to its size and various enclaves of entertainment / nightlife, but I think Nashville has graduated from a "one-trick" town. Maybe 20+ years ago, but has since come a long way.
And yes, for a mid-size city, its hotel game is very impressive. There is also talk of an Edition (by Marriott) hotel, one of my favorite brands.
I will say Philadelphia has ramped up its hotel game too, the recent opening of the Four Seasons (one of the most stunning hotels I've ever been to) and the long awaited W. A few others are still in the pipeline, but Covid has caused issues (understandably).
Have we done a Nashville nightlife vs. Austin nightlife thread? That's a more fair comparison and would make for a far better interesting thread imo.
Not sure, but agreed. Nashville and Austin are much more similar across the board then Nashville to Philadelphia, but it would be a fairer and probably more interesting discussion.

I think that was done a while back as a subtopic in a thread. It was closed due to fighting.
