I'll put it like this, the Albany metro area has a higher average annual wage than many of the growing major Southern areas according to this source: https://www.bls.gov/oes/current/oessrcma.htm For instance, if it was in Texas, it would be the metro with the higher average annual wage according to that source.

For some of the other Upstate areas, they are on par with similarly sized areas that are growing, if not higher.

I'd say to take a look.

Me too except I voted for all 4 of them. The one I would least likely to live in is Florida but that is mostly due to climate not because of the people or the state - I need me some winter and change of seasons. But I could still live in Florida happily.
